VOICEcorps reading service

[Formerly CORRS, the Central Ohio Radio Reading Service]

Caring and Sharing since 1975

24 Hour Broadcast Service

Serving people who cannot use standard
print because of a visual impairment or physical disability

History of VOICEcorps

The Central Ohio Radio Reading Service was founded in April of 1975
by Irwin Hott, Fred Allemeier and Stanley Doran; all three of these
gentlemen were blind. Our first day on air was November 17, 1975.
We became known as VOICEcorps reading service on July 30, 2004.

We broadcast 24 hours a day, 365 days a year,
8,760 hours annually with 250 volunteers.

VOICEcorps has 20 volunteers today who have been volunteering
the entire life of the VOICEcorps reading service.

Special thanks to Winifred Robinson, a long time
volunteer reader, who, in 1997, donated $250,000.00 which aided

the relocation and expansion of VOICEcorps operations.
